Ask Wookiee is an AI-assisted conversational project built around a playful idea with a serious accessibility point: accessible experiences can still have personality, motion, sound, rich visuals, and delight. The project shows that accessibility is not the absence of styling or fun; it is the presence of thoughtful choices and user control.

Project overview

The experience gives visitors a memorable way to explore a conversational interface with a Wookiee-inspired character, themed worlds, animations, and sound. It includes 15 world themes, or 30 total visual combinations when counting each light and dark version, so the interface can feel expressive without locking users into one presentation.

User controls are a core part of the design. Visitors can turn Wookiee sounds on or off, add custom background music, switch between light and dark modes, and disable animations when motion is not wanted. Those controls let the experience stay immersive while respecting different preferences and access needs.

Goals

  • Make an AI-powered interaction feel approachable, playful, and easy to understand
  • Show that accessible design can include rich styling, sound, animation, and theme variety
  • Give users meaningful control over motion, audio, and color mode
  • Keep the experience polished enough to share while still feeling fun

Approach

The project balances personality with usability. Custom prompts shape the Wookiee-inspired voice, while the interface keeps the interaction clear and predictable. The sounds, animations, and themed worlds add energy, but the controls make sure those enhancements stay optional instead of becoming barriers.

The visual direction also used AI-assisted image generation. Instead of asking for a specific third-party character, the prompt described broad Wookiee-like traits and mood, resulting in original artwork that supported the theme without depending on a licensed likeness.

Outcome

Ask Wookiee demonstrates how a small AI project can be expressive, accessible, and practical at the same time. It is a compact example of designing for delight without forgetting user choice.
