Deque University code library

Helped create the code patterns for Deque's ARIA pattern library and establish it as an educational resource for accessible, tested components.

I helped create the code patterns for Deque's ARIA Pattern Library and establish it as an educational resource for accessible, thoroughly tested components – from buttons and forms to modals and carousels.

Project overview

The library provides ready-to-use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript patterns grounded in WCAG standards and real-world assistive technology testing. I helped shape both the patterns and the guidance around them so the library could serve as a practical resource for teams learning how and when to build accessible components from the ground up.

Why it matters

  • Provides accessible, tested patterns teams can adopt or adapt directly
  • Covers a wide range of components from simple buttons to complex widgets
  • Grounded in WCAG standards and real-world AT testing across browsers and operating systems
  • Reduces the trial-and-error of building accessible components from scratch
